Dominating the Field: Don Soffer’s 2025 Girls Flag Football Update

The Don Soffer Aventura Varsity Girls Flag Football team of 2025 is heading into district playoffs with confidence, determination, and pride. After a season full of hard work, both victories and losses, and much determination, the Barracudas are ready to fight to keep their season alive.

With a current record of 4–7, the Barracudas have shown incredible progress and teamwork. From early practices to late games, the team has continued to improve, playing with unity every game. Despite a few close losses and difficulties, they’ve remained focused, and committed to pushing themselves forward. 

Under the leadership of Coach McQuery, the Barracudas have shown hustle all season long, growing stronger with each game. Their progress on the field reflects the hard work they have been putting into what they do. Throughout the season, Don Soffer had many incredible games, such as a 55–0 victory over Scheck Hillel and a 7–0 win against Archbishop McCarthy. Players like Suri Gonzalez and Alexandra Bentes have been recognized for amazing plays throughout the season, while Juliana Botta has stepped up as a leader time and time again, earning multiple Player of the Game honors for her positive impact on the field.

As the team prepares for their district playoff game the week of Monday, April 14 against Hialeah Academy, there is a lot of pressure. But despite this, the team’s energy remains strong, as they focus on finishing the season the same way they have been playing, with pride and determination.

“We’ve had ups and downs, but we’ve grown so much as a team,” said junior Angelina Gonzalez. “No matter what happens in the next game, I’m really proud of how far we’ve come. But I believe in us, and we’re going to give it everything we’ve got to win.” 

As they head into the playoffs, the Barracudas are focused, fired up, and ready to give it everything they’ve got. They’ve trained hard, played to the best of their ability, and represented Don Soffer Aventura with pride all season long.
