Dominating the Field: Don Soffer’s 2025 Girls Flag Football Update

The Don Soffer Aventura Varsity Girls Flag Football team of 2025 is heading into district playoffs with confidence, determination, and pride. After a season full of hard work, both victories and losses, the Barracudas are ready to fight to keep their season alive.

With a current record of 4–7, the Barracudas have demonstrated impressive growth and teamwork. From early practices to late-night games, the team has steadily improved, playing with unity each time they hit the field. Despite close losses and tough moments, they’ve stayed focused and committed to pushing themselves forward.

Under the leadership of Coach McQuery, the Barracudas have shown grit and determination all season, growing stronger with each game. Their progress on the field is a direct reflection of the hard work they’ve put in behind the scenes. Throughout the season, Don Soffer secured several standout victories, including a 55–0 win over Scheck Hillel and a 7–0 shutout against Archbishop McCarthy. Players like Suri Gonzalez and Alexandra Bentes have been recognized for their standout performances, while Juliana Botta has consistently stepped up as a leader, earning multiple Player of the Game honors for her positive impact on the field.

As the team prepares for their district playoff game the week of Monday, April 14, against Hialeah Academy, the pressure is on. But despite the high stakes, the Barracudas’ energy remains strong as they aim to finish the season the same way they’ve played it— with pride and determination.

“We’ve had ups and downs, but we’ve grown so much as a team,” said junior Angelina Gonzalez. “No matter what happens in the next game, I’m really proud of how far we’ve come. I believe in us, and we’re going to give it everything we’ve got to win.”

Heading into the playoffs, the Barracudas are focused, fired up, and ready to leave it all on the field. They’ve trained hard, competed with heart, and represented Don Soffer Aventura with pride all season long.
