This past season, Don Soffer High’s boys soccer team didn’t just take home the district title–they proved what can happen when talent meets teamwork. Throughout the season, the team experienced their highs and lows on the field, but with each game, they found growth that ultimately led them to bring home Soffer High’s first-ever district trophy.

The season was living proof that the bumps in the road weren’t permanent barriers. After losing their goalkeeper to a career-changing offer from Inter Miami, the team had to adapt to a new dynamic following the departure of a key teammate. Giauliano Diodati, a player in his senior year, claimed, “It was definitely a setback, but we got through it and persevered as a team.” But that wasn’t their only challenge–bouncing back from tough losses is never easy.
Losing to tough opponents like Gulliver Prep, LaSalle (5–3), and in the first round of regionals undoubtedly tested the team’s resilience. But with those losses came victories–and they were memorable. The Cudas dominated in key matchups, defeating Posnack 8–0, Ransom 8–2, and International Studies 9–1, all leading up to their crowning achievement: winning the district championship. Ultimately, the season will be remembered for that historic milestone–bringing home Soffer High’s first-ever district trophy.
What to Expect from the ’25-’26 Cuda Soccer Season
The Soffer soccer team is bringing a whole new energy into the upcoming season–channeling not just improved skills, but the mental toughness and discipline they’ve gained along the way. When asked about the mindset heading into next year, senior standout Andres Pasquali summed it up simply: “Working hard, keeping the strong communication, and teamwork.”

Closing the chapter on last season and looking ahead to what’s next, the team brings with them the resilience shaped by last year’s challenges and the confidence built through their victories. With momentum on their side and a stronger team dynamic, they’re not just aiming to compete–they’re ready to grow, improve, and push even further.
